Everything You Need to Know About 4D

In the Southeast Asian countries of Malaysia and Singapore, there is no shortage of eager lotto bettors. Many of these individuals engage in lottery games to try their luck at changing their fortunes at just a minimal cost of a lottery ticket.

Lottery games in these two Southeast Asian countries have different variations, including 2D, 4D, 6D, and even Toto. But, one of the most popular lottery games that has continued to gain momentum to this day is the 4D. It is a widely-known computerized lottery system that often offers enormous prizes.

The 4D lottery involves placing bets on 4-digit numbers from 0000 to 9999. And similar to other lottery games, bettors aged 18 and over are the only ones who can wager on 4D.

Bettors can place wagers on their numbers until 6:00 PM of the draw day and draws happen on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 6:30 PM. During the draw, twenty-three (23) numbers will be drawn as the winning numbers, and these will fall into five prize categories – 1st prize, 2nd prize, 3rd prize, 10 Starter Prizes, and 10 Consolation Prizes.

But before placing 4D lottery bets, bettors have to consider several things first: they need to decide whether to bet Big or Small. Bettors may have a chance to win on all 23 winning numbers if they wager on a Big Bet. On the other hand, if they go for Small Bet, they will have to match their number to the top three winning numbers.

Accordingly, they need to determine how they will place their 4D bets. In Singapore and Malaysia, 4D bet types are generally the same, and they only differ in how they are called.

In Singapore, 4D bets can be entered by Ordinary Entry, 4D Roll Entry, System Entry, iBet Entry, and Quick Pick. In Malaysia, on the other hand, bets can be placed via Straight Play, Roll Play, Permutation Play, mBox Play, and Lucky Pick Play.

  • Ordinary Entry/Straight Play – players will only bet on their selected 4D number;
  • 4D Roll Entry/Roll Play – players will bet on ten permutations of their chosen 4D number. They will have to choose three digits and place a rolling integer, represented by “R.” In Malaysia, bettors can only roll the first or last digit of their preferred 4D number. In contrast, bettors in Singapore can roll on the first, second, third, or fourth number of their selected 4D number.
  • System Entry/Permutation Play – players will bet on all possible permutations of their preferred 4D number.
  • iBet Entry/mBox Play – players will bet on all possible permutations of their 4D number – similar to System Entry/Permutation Play– but in much lower stakes. Regardless of the number of permutations they bet on, bettors only have to wager a minimum of $1/RM1.
  • Quick Pick/Lucky Pick Play – players let the computerized system generate a random 4D number for them to bet on.

Moreover, bettors have two ways to place their bets on 4D and other lottery games like Toto. They can place bets on the two lottery games by visiting lottery shops. But, in this digital era, they can now opt to buy 4D and Toto online. Toto lottery operators, along with online casino operators like 88ProAsia, have made it possible for bettors to purchase Toto tickets and buy 4D online with convenience and comfort.
