Have You Contracted the Affluenza Virus?
May 20, 2008 · No Comments
Have you contacted the affluenza virus? Not sure?
Answer ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to the following statements.
I would like to be a wealthy person.
I would like my name known by many people
I would like to successfully hide the signs of ageing
I would like to be admired by many people
I would like to have people comment often about how attractive I look
I like to keep up with fashions in hair and clothing
I would like to have my name appear frequently in the media
I often compare what I own with what others own
Possessions can be just as important as people
Shopping or thinking about what to buy greatly preoccupies me
If a friend can’t help me get ahead in life, I usually end the friendship
I’m less concerned with what work I do than with what I get for it
I admire people who own expensive homes, cars and clothes
My life would be better if I owned certain things I don’t have now
The things I will own will say a lot about how well I’ve done in life
I want a lot of luxury in life.
If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the questions, then it’s said you have the virus.
The more ‘yes’ answered, the higher the viral load and the more depressed you are likely to be.

BBC Bullied into Submission by Climate Change Activist
May 9, 2008 · No Comments
Wonderful expose in this US news video of how climate change activists influence BBC reporting of climate change. It’s also an excellent example of why the facts are getting lost in the new religion of Climate Change & Global Warming. Why couldn’t the BBC have run this expose? No wonder the BBC’s reputation for fair & balanced reporting is eroding.

HMRC & Tax Voyeurism
May 6, 2008 · No Comments
So another day another sleazy HM Revenue & Customs data scandal. 600 staff have been disciplined for unauthorised access of celebrity tax files. 600 suggests it’s endemic. Makes you wonder how many of these pseudo civil servants are supplementing their income by offering information to the highest bidder in Fleet Street or, Wapping

Oldham Council Should Consult Baby Jack Focker
April 21, 2008 · No Comments

Liz Terry, Director for Strategy and Resources, at Oldham Council inhaled deeply on a joss-stick and said:
Branding is about managing a reputation and what we have been hearing from people is some out-of-date, negative views about Oldham as a place and as a council. So we felt we needed to do something about that.
What did the Council do? They spent £100,000 on a new logo! Liz Terry gushed:
The main picture that people will see is a circle. It’s a circle of unity, it’s about oneness, it’s about saying, ‘We’re about many places but, one destination.
This all sounds reminiscent of Jack Focker (Robert De Niro), in “Meet the Fockers” hilarious movie. He also uses the language of psycho babble & keeps referring to the “Family Circle of Trust”. But, perhaps we should all respond to Liz Terry in the same way as little, baby Jack Focker in the clip below?
Oldham Council received a 6.4% increase in central Government funding this year. Much of it seems to be going on re-branding, freezing council tax (it’s election time again) and a huge investment in the Council website.
Councils are collectively spending millions on the sort of psycho babble spouted by Liz Terry. When will these bureaucrats focus on their core business of providing essential services to the community?

Update 24 April, 2008: Looks like Oldham Council can’t take the heat. They appear to have withdrawn their new logo on the website. Must have taken the feedback from baby Jack Focker a bit too seriously! Instead of branding themselves with “One-ness”, they have had a change of heart. Its now “I-ness” (as in ME-ness). Oh dear!

Climate Report You Won’t See in the British Media
March 17, 2008 · No Comments
The Washington Times has just published a withering report on the lack of scientific rigor in the IPCC’s reports on climate change. You won’t see this in the British media or, mentioned by our politicians.
The World Meteorological Organization and the United Nations created the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 1988 to provide a “comprehensive, objective, scientific, technical and socioeconomic assessment of human-caused climate change, its potential impacts and options for adaptation and mitigation.” However, several studies cast doubt on the IPCC’s conclusions & methodologies so, in 2006, US Congress requested an independent analysis. A panel of statisticians chaired by Edward J. Wegman, of George Mason University, found significant problems with the methods of statistical analysis used by the researchers and with the IPCC’s peer review process. The IPCC comprises politically appointed scientists, dependent on Government funding for their continuing research.
Remember our own Government told us that there “Is now a clear scientific consensus on climate change”. No there isn’t and never has been. The whole notion of scientific consensus is nonsense since science, thrives on scepticism, conflicting ideas/theories & open debate.

Man Made Global Warming - A Man Made Scam?
March 12, 2008 · No Comments
A brilliantly researched article by Melanie Phillips in the The Spectator on Man Made Global Warming (MMGW):
More evidence from the International Conference on Climate change last month which produced the Manhattan Declaration of the way in which scientists who are sceptical about man-made global warming find their work is suppressed………..
