The media love to claim that on any specific issue someone or some group is “outraged”. But, who do the UK media claim is the most outraged? One of the wonders of Google search is that its easy to find out. Just type into the Google search bar “Group Outraged” (inc the quotation marks) , where Group can be anything you wish eg. citizens, newspaper readers, beachcombers etc (& click the “pages from the UK” button) and up comes the results bar showing the total number of media mentions.
This is a game you can try yourself so don’t just take my word for it but, the only UK groups I found with more than 100 “articles” were:
1. Muslims (2730 articles)
2. MPs (327)
3. Activists (290)
4. Citizens (123)
So what can we deduce from the fact that the media mentions of Muslim outrage are more than all the other outraged groups put together?
Do they have more reason than the rest of us to be outraged? Are they more sensitive than other groups of UK citizens? Do the media just report Muslim outrage more frequently?
I think we all have a right to know so that this intensity of Muslim outrage can be assuaged.
Can anyone find a group which is even more outraged?
