Highway Patrol Rounds up Queens on California Highway

In case you were looking for something else we are definitely talking about queen bees here!

Last weekend a truckload of beehives toppled on California Highway 99, leaving 440 colonies strewn across the freeway.

The commuting colonies and their queens, were released when the truck flipped over on an exit ramp, toppling the palletes carrying the hives. The bees had been pollinating the almond Orchards of California’s central valley.
