One of the big issues of the day is climate change caused by global warming. But, have you ever thought about how global warming is being measured? There are literally thousands of measuring stations across the globe using temperature recorders…all fed into a global database. Like this one in Lampasas, Texas, situated just by the Ace Hardware store. The temperature probe is located in the little box marked MMTS.
Heat reflection from the building, tarmac and parked cars seriously distorts true measurement of area temperature. You can read more HERE although, it’s a bit geeky.
